Harmonix has announced an August 28 release date for Rock Band Blitz on PlayStation Network and August 29 on Xbox Live Arcade. The downloadable title will cost $15 and include over 20 songs.
The Rock Band developer also announced four tracks for the new set list. "So Far Away" by Avenged Sevenfold, Fun's "We Are Young," Kool & The Gang's "Jungle Boogie," and "Sing" from My Chemical Romance join Tears for Fears, Barenaked Ladies and other artists. That includes any songs you have stored from the first three band games.
Blitz is the first Rock Band game for consoles that doesn't require an instrument -- it functions much like Harmonix's Frequency and Amplitude titles. That said, each song will be playable for Rock Band 3 users who buy Blitz.
That's a lot of Rock Band.
